Dear Customer,
This note is to explain our policy on subcontracting of testing services. Mold & Bacteria Consulting Laboratories (MBL) testing services are conducted strictly following Quality Assurance Program (QAP) of Policies and Procedures which is described in our Quality Assurance Manual. This program follows the quality guidelines as documented in ISO/IEC 17025:2005 to ensure that our customers receive scientifically sound and legally defensible data.
MBL is accredited by the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard for Legionella, Bacteria and Mold testing. Accreditation is the formal recognition by CALA of our competence to carry out specified tests, conforming with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. This formal recognition is based on an on-going evaluation of MBL’s capability and performance. A current copy of the Scope of Accreditation listing specific tests can be found at the CALA website.
Subcontracting of Testing Services
MBL does not subcontract microbial testing work to external laboratories. However, in the event MBL must subcontract work because of unforeseen reasons (e.g., workload, need for further expertise, or temporary incapacity), the Quality Control Manager will ensure all tests are performed by laboratories that comply with the quality management system as addressed in the MBL quality manual and the policies of the accreditation program. As per the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 requirement, MBL shall subcontract only to external laboratories that maintain accreditation appropriate for that testing unless otherwise directed by the customer. Prior to submitting the samples to the subcontractor the lab shall seek the customer’s approval either by phone or by email.
MBL is responsible to the customer for the competency of the subcontractor’s work, except in cases where the customer or a regulatory authority specifies in writing which subcontractor is to be used.
Thank you!
