Molds can grow in virtually any home if moisture is available. Indoor molds thrive by breaking down organic matter such as fabrics, leather, wallpaper and wood thus damaging our homes or belongings. Molds come in a variety of colors including white, brown, green and black. They reproduce by developing microscopic seed-like structures called spores. Spores are not visible to the naked eye, and are easily carried through the air. When people breath in these spores they may react depending on their level of sensitivity to mold. If the spores land on a moist surface with an adequate food source, they germinate and form new mold growth.
