Hiring a professional to collect air samples for mold testing can be expensive (may cost over $1,500.00) since they will charge for their time to collect the samples and also for the laboratory fee. By collecting samples yourself (using the same tools used by professionals) and sending them directly to a recognized laboratory saves you on "professional" fee which is always higher than the laboratory fee. If you suspect you have a mold problem in your home or office, we suggest, as a first step, a do-it-yourself air sampling in areas of concern. It's easy, fast, inexpensive and the most effective method to quickly determine if you've been inhaling excessively contaminated air. With this initial test, you will be able to decide if hiring a professional for more extensive testing or remediation is necessary.
Your samples will be analyzed at Mold & Bacteria Consulting Laboratories, a leading mold testing laboratory in North America.
Within 48 working hours (after we receive the samples), we'll send you an easy-to-understand laboratory report that will help you answer the following questions:
- Is your family or yourself inhaling elevated levels of mold spores? If so, WHAT TYPES?
- Do I have hidden mold growth? If you have no visible mold, elevated levels of airborne spores could be an indication of hidden mold growth.
- Where is the mold likely to be located? If the total spore counts from the basement sample, for example, are several times higher than those from other rooms then the mold problem is likely localized in the basement,
- How extensive is the mold problem? The higher the mold spore counts in several rooms the more extensive the problem is.
Having the answers to the above questions will enable you to make an informed decision as to whether further investigation and/or remedial action is necessary, thus saving yourself money.
Laboratory results and interpretation will be sent to you within 48 working hours. The results will be sent via email or fax. Hardcopy results will be mailed if requested.
How Do You Collect The Air Samples?
You simply rent a professional air sampling pump from our laboratory and also buy the cassettes into which the air is sampled. The basic mold testing package includes the following:- RENTAL of Air-Sampling Pump (1 day rental only);
- 2 FREE cassettes, 1 for indoor air sample and the other for outdoor sample;
- Easy to Follow Air Sampling Instructions;
- Analysis of samples by a recognized laboratory with a turn-around time of 48 working hours;
- Laboratory report with results interpretation;
- FREE on phone professional consultation to help you decide if further investigation and/or remedial action is necessary.
How To Order And Pay For Your Mold Testing Kit
- Select a mold testing package that suites your needs (i.e., depending on the number of rooms you wish to test).
- After selecting the test package you want from the dropdown menu, click on Add To Cart button and Simply follow the instructions. You'll receive confirmation of your purchase details by email. How many test cassettes should I order?
order one cassette for each room or for every 500 square feet of space you are testing, plus one for the outside control sample. For example if you intend to test 4 rooms, you need 5 cassettes (on the dropdown menu of the shopping cart, select basic kit + 4 additional cassettes).
